The road to Manila runs through Johannesburg as Red Bull Half Court South Africa gets ready to crown its national champions.

Following city qualifiers across the country, the best 3×3 streetball teams will go head-to-head at the National Final on Saturday, 22 August, with the men’s and women’s champions earning a ticket to the Red Bull Half Court World Final in Manila, Philippines, on 5 December 2026.

The action takes over Klipspruit Sports Centre in Soweto, bringing a full day of basketball, music and street culture. Expect high-intensity games, a public dunk contest, shooting challenges, a 1v1 competition and a live performance from Kamo Mphela. On the men’s side, MBB Blue Soldiers return as the team to beat after winning last year’s national title and representing South Africa at the World Final in Dubai.

But with nine other teams coming for their crown, the road back to the World Final won’t be easy. The women’s title is also up for grabs, with last year’s champions Hoop Hustlers absent from this year’s competition. Blue Flames, Buckets & Bruises, Ghiv Us, Size Nenye and The Takeover are all chasing the crown — and that ticket to Manila.

Red Bull Half Court is bringing the full streetball experience to Soweto. Alongside the tournament, fans can catch Kamo Mphela live, test their shooting skills with Lethal Shooter, enter the open dunk contest and watch a 1v1 side competition. And on the court, every possession counts. Games are played three-on-three for 10 minutes or until a team reaches 21 points, meaning there’s no room to take your foot off the gas. On 22 August, two champions will emerge from Johannesburg with South Africa on their backs and Manila on their minds.

One court, two champions, one ticket to the world stage.
