After weeks of unforgettable sporting moments in spectacular fashion, hundreds of fans gathered on Sunday 19 July at the Smirnoff ICE Fan Park at Wakanda Village in Sandton to witness Spain claim the winning title following a gripping final against Argentina.

The Final Showdown marked the culmination of a fan experience that transformed Wakanda Village into one of Johannesburg’s most exciting destinations for live sport. The Smirnoff ICE Fan Park welcomed fans from across the city to experience some of the biggest moments in international football, while also screening major rugby, tennis and motorsport events in an atmosphere defined by music, entertainment and community.

As the final whistle confirmed Spain as champions, the celebrations continued with an electrifying entertainment lineup featuring Slade, EeQue, Dench and Uncool MC, who kept fans on their feet throughout the day.

Adding a memorable finale to the celebrations was DJ Wamz, winner of the Smirnoff ICE DJ Competition, who delivered an energetic Afro-house closing set. The competition formed part of Smirnoff ICE’s commitment to creating opportunities for emerging talent, giving one rising DJ the chance to perform on a big stage.

Over the course of 5 weeks, the Smirnoff ICE Fan Park became more than just a place to watch live sport.
