Filipina-Singaporean singer Gail Belmonte is gifted with a voice that oozes warmth and sincerity.
The artist’s style straddles the line between R&B and indie pop. I only discovered Gail the other week, but I already have two favourite songs from her: “Playing House” and “The Same Way”.
While “Playing House” is steeped in vulnerability, “The Same Way” feels brighter and more upbeat. Still, both songs are affectingly heartfelt. And passionate. And melodious too.
Gail did a lot of singing during her teenage years, beginning professional practice when she turned 18. After successful participation in music competitions, she started dropping music officially in 2020.
Following a break that lasted a few years, Belmonte returned in mid 2025. Since then, she has been releasing music regularly.
