Following a successful first season, Gordon’s Mashup Masters returns with 10 artists across five original collaborations, each designed as a genuine creative exchange rather than a conventional feature. By encouraging artists to step outside their comfort zones, the series creates space for experimentation, storytelling and musical discovery, while celebrating the richness of South Africa’s diverse creative landscape. The opening episode pairs acclaimed rapper Kane Keid with celebrated jazz musician Ndabo Zulu, bringing together contemporary hip-hop and deeply rooted jazz traditions. Rather than asking either artist to compromise their identity, the collaboration becomes a conversation between lyricism, live instrumentation, improvisation and Nguni-rooted musical expression.
