Pianist Abdullah Ibrahim, whose music buzzed with the bustle of South Africa's townships, resounded to the vastness of its savannah landscapes and was adopted as a rallying cry for the anti-apartheid movement, has died aged 91, the office of President Cyril Ramaphosa said on 15 June 2026. No cause of death was given.
